He Who Had Been Called Home
After years of ailments and sufferings, Pope John Paul II ended his journey on Earth, and called home to the Kingdom of God on this very day.
Under his 26 years of papacy - from his election as the first non-Italian pope in 455 years till his death, the Catholic and the whole world have observed the great leadership of this spiritual man.
He will be greatly remembered as an inspirator of revolt against communism in Europe, as well as stauch opposition to conservative issues such as abortion and contraceptive.
For me, he's yet another great being after many figures such as Mother Teresa, Princess Diana and Gandhi. Like these people, his life inspired mine, from his religious faith to his unflinching stands and view points.
He shall now claim his reward in the Heavenly Kingdom. May he be granted eternal rest, and may the perpetual light shine upon him forever. Amen.
