Independence Day

Today marks the 50th year of Nationhood for Malaysia.

I was following the media coverage from the paper and TV. Ok, I know it's the 50th anniversary, but it is justifiable for the government to spend so much for a grand celebration? Are we trying to prove to the world we've 'grown' so much after all these years?

While the firework lit up the Malaysian sky, there are people who still live in poverty and are illiterate.

They could have used the money to build better infrastructure, create more healthcare services or even provide more education chance.

Anyway, this is just my opinion. Our government always have a better way to spend its money.

Selamat Hari Merdeka, Malaysia.

Time To Move On

A lot of memories came back to me as I was clearing my mailbox and files in the PC. The mass 'spam' mails from colleagues/friends, the photos stored in the hard drive; reminiscing me of the good old days.

I thought leaving this job would be easy. But I was wrong.

Sometimes, we're so used to being in our own comfort zone, doing the things that we're familiar with. But when we're forced to leave that zone and have to traverse a new territory, we tend to be anxious on what lays ahead. I guess that's how I'm feeling right now.

Then again, I will never learn and grow if I choose to be stagnant.

So yeah, I've made up my mind and it's time to move on. : )

New Layout

I'm back! After a 2-month hiatus, I guess it's time to pick up where I stopped.

Well, for a start I changed the layout of the blog. It's back to green again, just like the very first layout I had for the blog.

Here's another look at the old layout.

Perhaps the next one shall be black? Hmm....

SMS

Found out that I've sent 500++ sms over the past 30 days.

Not sure whether you'll consider that as normal volume. But I think it's way too high by my standard. :P

Never knew I work my thumb so hard on the key pad. Kakaka...

Better limit myself sending a max of 10 sms per day only. That'll be a challenge. Hmm...

Flying Again Soon

Yes, I'm going back to Kuching! But not until 12 weeks from now. :P

In case you don't know, MAS and AirAsia are having yet another price war. So I got the tickets for less than RM 200 thanks to them. And I'm flying one way MAS one way AirAsia. Sweet!

Haven't got the chance to go back after the CNY trip. So, am really looking forward to go back.

Will be in Kuching for about 1 week. Better than nothing though. At least I get to eat mom's cooking. I'm starting to make a list of food that I want to eat already. Hehehe...

Best of all, it's near to the Mid-Autumn Festival. So I'll get to eat the type of mooncake that can only be found in Kuching. I don't really know how to describe it, but I promise I'll take a picture of it. ; )

Let the countdown begin!

Needle and I

Went to the specialist center today to have a follow-up medical check. Was required to do another blood test, which means another injection! :(

I am super afraid of injections. I could even count the number of times I have an injection. That would be less than 5 times excluding the ones I got when I was still a baby. And guess what? I've already gotten 3 jabs out of that 5 times (or less) for the past 1 year, thanks to my high blood pressure.

The first jab was given by a GP at a clinic who advised that I do some tests to determine whether the high BP was caused by any organ failure. I almost had a nightmare the night before the blood test. No kidding.

I know I know. You would say that it's just like an ant bite. But it's not the pain that I can't withstand. It's that feeling of something poking into your skin and stay there for a good few seconds before being pulled out that freaks me out. Arghhh, even typing the experience gives me the shivers.

Anyways, I got another jab about 2 weeks ago. This time I was admitted to a private hospital for observation, upon insistence of the doctor. Well, I went to the emergency ward because I was feeling dizzy. I was hoping for an MC only. Who knew the doc would be so generous and offered me 3 days of MC, 2 night stay at the ward, and plenty of meals. Oh and not forgetting a series of tests done on my heart, liver and kidney.

And of course that sweet jab given to me at 5.30 in the morning. I was sleeping soundly when the nurses came. They poked the needle into my right arm and got no blood, pulled it out and stucked it into my left arm instead! Imagine being poked at like that when you're only half awake. 0.o"

Luckily my eyes were to dry to flow any tears. Hehe.

This morning's experience was the best I had to date. Imagine a hospital pharmacy where you'll need to take a number and queue for blood test. The guy's job is to keep calling people into a corner and draw blood. He's really a pro. Seriously no pain at all! Of course this time I'm smart enough to ask him to draw blood from my left arm. :D

And you don't even feel that needle in your skin. Maybe the needle was much sharper, I don't know. Maybe I'm just getting used to it.

P/S:

FYI, my organs are perfectly fine. Nothing's wrong with them. The specialist told me I'm having high BP due to the environment (work, food, bla bla bla) I'm in. I am prescribed with a medicine to control my BP.

I now consider myself expert in high BP related issue. ; )

And no, high BP doesn't spell heart attack! :P

Oh, in case you're wondering how much is the hospitalization fee, it's a 4-figure sum. Don't worry, I'm not broke yet because I'm covered under the company's medical benefit. ; )

Nice?

Took this picture the other day, on the way to Port Dickson. We stopped at a traffic light, and saw this tree next to me. And now it has become my phone's wallpaper. :D

By the way, we did not win the Explore Race. Got lost somewhere in Negeri Sembilan. Instead of going to Port Dickson, we ended up at Pedas, Linggi & Seremban. -_-"

Needless to say, we did not win the race. Not even top 10. :P

I must say Amazing Race was so much exciting compared to Explore Race. At least I got to visit Port Dickson for the very first time. There is really some beautiful stretch of beach over there.

So, anyone interested to visit Port Dickson? ; )

I'm Back

Exactly a month since my last post. How great is that?! :P

Anyway, some photos I took the other day when hiking Bukit Beruang.

P/S: Photos taken using Sony Ericsson K800i phone camera.

Was almost out of breath when I got to the top. Seriously lack of exercise. -_-"

But this time it was much better compared to the other day when I participated in the company's 'Amazing Race'. First round of the race, I had to run all the way up to St Paul's Hill to retrieve the clue, which was to count the number of steps leading to A'Famosa. Ran all the way down and then up the hill again to get the next clue. Oh and down again to the car.

By the time I reached the car, my leg has already given up on me. :P By the end of the whole race, I was practically half-dead. Not to mention I did not sleep the night before as I had just finished my night shift.

But everything was worth it because my team won! RM1500 of Jusco cash voucher, divided among me and my 3 other team mates. RM375 to be spent on perfume/facial care during the next trip down to KL. Syok! :D

I'm participating in another race organized by the company next weekend. This time it's called 'Explore Race', and it will actually end in Port Dickson. How cool is that?!

Anyway, don't know why those organizers can't come out with something more creative for the race names. How lame~

Oh well, wish me luck ok? ; )

No Promises

I'm so addicted to this song by Shayne Ward. Blame it on the radio stations which keep playing the track.

Found that his other singles are not that bad as well. :D

Wonder how long will the addiction last? Hmm...

Color of the day - blue.

The weather is good; good enough to just sleep and forget about the day.

I'm tired. Wish I can just let everything go. But I can't, because that's so not me. Sometimes I wonder what will I get for giving so much. Yet when I think of it, I'm not hoping for anything in return.

I need a break. A long quiet stroll along the beach would be nice!

The day will be brighter tomorrow. I'm certain of that. Even the sky is not always blue. : )
