Walking the Life of Mine

I must say today is a day well spent. Woke up around noon after a good 8-hour sleep. Made a few phone calls to friends and relatives back in Kuching.

Out of boredom, Chun Wei came over and we headed over to Jusco with Jason and Janice. Janice was the one doing the most shopping. :P The rest of us only got some food and other daily necessity from the supermarket. The afternoon went by just like that.

We came back and quickly got ready for the (Christmas) dinner. This time, Hoo Mun joined us as well; for the dinner at Newton Food Court. Newton is located at the Malaccan town. It's usually packed with food hunters, especially during the weekends and on occasions like this. You can get a variety of food here.

The 5 of us ordered quite alot of food - satay, fried kueh tiaw, Penang laksa, fried oyster, ikan bakar, herbal soup, and many more (not that many actually, as in some more...hehe). Well one thing's for sure, the table was full by the time we were having the dessert. Here's the proof.



We were absolutely bloated by the time we finished everything. As planned, we then proceeded to Portugese Settlement for the photo sessions we missed last night :D

This is one of the house in the settlement. I was amazed by the extent of the house decoration. Notice the reindeers and sleigh on the roof. These artificial lit-up reindeers could actually tilt their heads! For your information, one such reindeer cost up to as much as RM300. And look at the giant inflatable Santa. It sure is huge!

Of course, we would not want to miss the opportunity to pose with jolly ol' Santa. Ho ho ho, Merry Christmas!

This is also part of the exterior of the same house above. It's actually a small garden, labelled "Santa's Workshop". We did not catch a glimpse of any elf though. They must have taken the day off to enjoy the holiday as well. ;)

This cozy-looking wooden house is in fact one of the restaurants in the settlement. The restaurant was not opened though, but I peeped in and saw that the interior was nicely decorated too.

This is among the many streets in the neighbourhood. Every plant and electrical cable along the road is nicely lined with multicolored (and some running) lights.
